[…]During that event (which I won) there were anonymous complaints from other participants, negative columns in newspapers and magazines and a lot of gossip.
Reporters wanted to talk to me and of course not about me winning the tournament.
My attitude at that time was that the discussion was about me and not necessarily with me, so I refrained from giving any comments.
Well, one way or another I survived it all.
A few months later I played the final and by that time I was already yesterdays news.[…]
